[ejabberd] DIGEST MD5 with external auth script

Hi,

do I see it correctly that it is not possible to
do digest authentication when using an external
script? considering that xep-0078 reads:

"Client implementations MUST NOT make plaintext the 
default mechanism, and SHOULD warn the user that the 
plaintext mechanism is insecure."

that would be quite annoying. or am i simply doing
something wrong here? it seems ejabberd does not
advertise "DIGEST MD5" anymore, after I enable
the external auth script.
