Hello There Everyone,

I am having an issue with ejabberd crashing.

The following is the issue reported in the erl crash dump:

erl_crash_20080821-035924.dump:Slogan: eheap_alloc: Cannot allocate
10875019720 bytes of memory (of type "old_heap").
erl_crash_20080821-080659.dump:Slogan: eheap_alloc: Cannot allocate
10875019720 bytes of memory (of type "old_heap").
erl_crash_20080821-115022.dump:Slogan: eheap_alloc: Cannot allocate
10875019720 bytes of memory (of type "heap").
erl_crash_20080822-035230.dump:Slogan: eheap_alloc: Cannot allocate
10875019720 bytes of memory (of type "heap").

Interestingly enough, the number of bytes (Around 10GB) is always the
same. The only difference was old_heap and heap.

I've noticed some issues reported like this back in 2006, however I
did not see any particular resolution that looked like it applied to
this situation.

Here is the statistics of the hardware involved:

HP DL385G2 with Dual Dual-Core Opteron 2.2GHz
16GB of Ram
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64bit Server
Erlang (BEAM) emulator version 5.6.2 [source] [64-bit] [smp:4] [async-
threads:0] [hipe] [kernel-poll:false]
ejabberd latest stable: 2.0.1 installed from installer bin.

I do not have an exact count of users that were logging in at the
time, however it may have been 100+ connected/connecting.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Adam
