[ejabberd] freebsd upgrade and now auth failures

Does that mean the old information is not recovered in the new installation?

Then first go to a state where ejabberd runs correctly and shows the
good information (accounts, rosters...). You tried to fix your current
installation, but from what you say, it seems you didn't succeed.

There is another plan that you can consider: go back in time to the
last state where you were happy with your installation. From what you
said:

You have all the pieces to reproduce that old working installation, right?
If that ejabberd-1.1.4_2 package is no longer available, you can
compile from source package.

Once you get some ejabberd to run your database (1.1.4, 2.0.5, source
package, ports, whatever), then you no longer are on a desperate
situation, and you can carefully plan your next moves, right?
