[ejabberd] Help me diagnose this error when registering over xmlrpc

This:

xmlrpc:call({127, 0, 0, 1}, 4561, "/", {call, register, [{struct, [{user, [216,167,217,132,216,174,216,168,216,177,216,167,217,134,217,138]}, {host, "rf.com"}, {password, "gogo11"}]}]}). 
{error,"HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error\r\n"}

leads to to believe the problem is with the erlang-xmlrpc package.

We are currently running erlang R12B-5.10, will the pre-compiled xmlrpc module work with our release or do we need to compile the xmlrpc from the source code?
