Then it might be interesting to look at the output of, first:

    etop -sort reductions

The Erlang processes at the top are those which consume most of the CPU
time.  (Press Ctrl+C twice to quit.)

If Erlang was installed from distribution packages, you might have to
install another package to get the "etop" utility.  E.g., on
Debian/Ubuntu , the "erlang-observer" package installs it as:

    /usr/lib/erlang/lib/observer-*/priv/bin/etop
